St Gerard Catholic Primary and Nursery School enjoys Spanish Week

PUPILS from a school in Widnes enjoyed a week of Spanish culture and celebrations.

The Catholic primary and nursery school of Saint-Gérard organized a week of modern foreign languages ​​during which the children were able to enjoy all kinds of activities.

They participated in flamenco dancing, tapas and explored the works of many Spanish artists.

Headmaster Karl Landrum said: “Here at St Gerard’s we pride ourselves on teaching and learning all subjects from kindergarten to year six.

“As to be expected, it was another wonderful opportunity to celebrate the cross-curricular opportunities we provide for our children and the commitment of staff within our forward-thinking school.”

Laura Roberts, MFL manager, said: “Our children have been involved in a range of activities during this week.

“It was fantastic to see the children get involved in all the subjects, while deepening their knowledge of Spanish.

“A memorable/memorable learning experience for the kids was tasting Spanish food and flamenco dancing.”

A celebration of child labor is proudly displayed in the school hall and parents, educators and teachers from surrounding schools have been invited to celebrate the children’s achievements.
