Pilmico launches breeder P1B, nursery

Pilmico Animal Nutrition Corp. launched its fourth breeding and nursery farm located in Talugtug, Nueva Ecija, which will boost the pork supply in the market.

The investment in the installation is 1 billion pesos.

The farm is expected to have an additional capacity of 2,500 sows that can produce 4.7 million kilograms of pork per year.

The facility was designed and built with enhanced biosecurity measures. It is equipped with modern designs and the latest in pig production technology to the high standards of a world-class facility.

Some of the farm’s produce will be processed at Pilmico’s meat-cutting plant, Tarlac Meatmasters. This will also serve their retail brand, The Good Meat.

“The last few years have been difficult for us in the pig industry, mainly due to the impact of African swine fever. In line with our mission to feed humanity, it is a high priority for us at Pilmico to help the recovery of the industry by increasing local pork production capacity,” said William Paradies, Senior Vice President of Pilmico.

The breeding and nursery farm is equipped with reinforced biosecurity measures and technologically advanced equipment in pig production.
