Robin arzon couldn’t wait to give her little girl a space she could call her home.

Peloton instructor, 38, who welcomed his first child, his daughter Athena Amelia, with husband Drew Butler earlier this year, gives PEOPLE an exclusive look inside her baby’s room and shares the inspiration behind the room.

Arzon has partnered with Pottery Barn Children to create the ‘welcoming and nourishing’ space for baby Athena, 3 months old, which features brass elements and earth tones for a clean, minimalist look.

“We really wanted it to be a place that looks like a cocoon but that is also modern. I didn’t want to have too much fun with it, but it was obviously a place for her to grow up and explore and be a child. ”she said. “I wanted an adult to be able to walk into the room and feel calm, rather than like they were in an exhibit at an amusement park.”

The fitness instructor, who opted for a gold and neutral color scheme, says she wanted a “calmer vibe” in the room but also “a few touches of bling.”

“We have brass instruments running through pretty much the entire apartment, and that element of luxury, I have to show him that there is still jewelry in the crown,” says Arzón.

Like the rest of Arzón’s house, the Athena nursery has floor-to-ceiling windows with a view of New York City.

“I think my favorite part of the nursery is sitting on the day bed, looking at the view, and [Athena] like to look outside. One of the main ways to soothe her is to hold her so that she can actually see the view outside. And I think she already understands that she is a city kid, ”says the new mom.

Arzón, who is also vice president of fitness programs at Peloton, loves reading to his little girl sitting in her rocking chair. The former lawyer says Athena already has an “incredible library” of books, including stories about “being a feminist, being anti-racist and different iconic figures.”

Not only does Arzón love being in Athena’s bedroom, but she also says that her daughter “really loves being in her nursery” and “knows this is her space”.

Arzón is also opening up to PEOPLE about stepping into the motherhood ‘flow’ and going back to her usual training routines.

“It has been a humbling experience. I will say that repairing, rebuilding, recovering your body after birth is quite amazing,” she says. “It’s a long way. I lift heavy, I run fast. And it feels really good to get back in the bath.”

“For me, the movement was a way to recover and to remember who I am and who I was and who I will continue to be before I have Athena. In order to parent her as I wish, in order to present myself for her as I want it, I have to remember who I am and that involves polishing with sweat a very illustrious but invisible crown, ”adds Arzón.

The coach announced her pregnancy for the first time to the world during a live Peloton course in September. Throughout her pregnancy, Arzón shared updates on her trip and was open about her decision to exercise during pregnancy.

In March, instructor Peloton announced The arrival of Athena exclusively with PEOPLE, sharing that she and Butler felt “so blessed and grateful”.

“From the moment we found out we were expecting, we felt so connected to her – as we had known her before in a past life,” the new mom said at the time. “We look forward to embarking on this next chapter and continuing to build a remarkable legacy with the newest member of our Wolfpack.”

“Life with Athena is already much more magical. Get ready, world! She is a full-fledged warrior goddess,” she added.

Arzón will resume his lessons at Peloton this summer.
