An upcoming online children’s art auction will benefit an organization dedicated to providing 24-hour crisis childcare for children aged 0-6.

The Mini O’Beirne Crisis Nursery in Springfield will partner with the Heart of Wes Barr Foundation to host the Oct. 17-21 auction, which will fund technology upgrades for the nonprofit nursery.

Community members can create and submit artwork to the nursery until September 30 for auction. Paint nights where people can create these works of art will be held September 1, 8, 15, 22 and 29 at The Shed on the Illinois State Fairgrounds as part of the Illinois Products Farmers Market.

Submitted art must be framed or on a hanging canvas or poster board. It should include the artist’s first name, age, and city of residence. All mediums are welcome, from finger paint to pencils to acrylic.

Submissions will be accepted at the nursery at 1011 N. Seventh St., Springfield.

Submitted works will then be included in an online gallery open for auction from October 17-21. A thank you event on October 22 at Enos Park will give winning bidders a chance to claim their art.

For more information on auctioning and submitting artwork, go online to miniobeirne.org/artauction.
