The Blackheath Art Society invites all art lovers to the ever-popular Easter Members’ Exhibition from Friday 15th April to Monday 18th April at The Studio, 139a Station Street Blackheath.
The studio is a short walk from the center of the village, across the Great Western Highway pedestrian crossing (with traffic lights) or the Blackheath station viaduct. Parking is nearby.
The salon will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., closing at 4 p.m. on Monday.
“We are always delighted to show off the exceptional work of our members,” said BAS President Sally Coppard. “Every year it gets better and better. Many of our members are professional artists represented in commercial galleries. Others present their work online or in exhibitions in Sydney and beyond. All work is available at selling and competition between buyers can be lively.”
This year’s judge is well-known artist and gallery owner Katoomba Robyn Nolan.
First prize is $500 and second prize is $250 thanks to generous donations from Blackheath Automotive, Weber’s Nursery and an anonymous local art lover.
“We are grateful to our sponsors who support the values of creativity and sharing in our local community,” said Ms. Coppard.
Commendations are awarded to finalists and visitors can vote for the audience award.
On Saturday April 16 at 2.30 p.m. there will be a “meet the artists” evening and award ceremony. All welcome.
